The Accra Archdiocesan Catechists Association gathered as one family on Saturday the 28th of September, 2019 to celebrate this year’s Catechists Day at the Holy Spirit Cathedral, Adabraka, Accra.
The joyous celebration which began with a Holy Mass saw Most Rev. John Bonaventure Kwofie CSSp, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra Archdiocese as the main celebrant and con celebrated by deanery chaplains of the Accra Archdiocesan Catechists.
In a welcome address, Rev. Fr. Richard Aziati was grateful to the Archbishop for honoring their invitation despite his busy schedule.
Archbishop in his homily admonished catechists to be people of faith in order to help others have reason in their faith. He again encouraged them to draw more souls to Christ through their ministry.
The second part of the program had Rev. Fr. Samuel Akoto-Mensah, National Director for religions, Education and Catechetics deliver an address. He encouraged Catechists to be holy, teach others to be holy and also make prayer a frequent spiritual activity.
The Archdiocesan Catechists President, Bro. Andrew Gyan also delivered an address. He focused more on the 3year plan designed to address some challenges of the catechists.
Awards were later presented to the deserving catechists for their dedication and hard work
